I had the opportunity to travel to Japan during my last summer of university for an internship that reinforced my love for the country. Upon graduation, I gained professional experience before returning to Japan as an ALT. I was placed in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture.

In 1994, with my newly acquired MA TESOL, I set out for Asia with a dream to teach in universities throughout Asia. Japan was my first stop and although I left several times, Japan kept calling me back. I have been blessed to work with outstanding educators, educational institutes, and Japanese companies.
